I finally made use of the angel shrine from Retro Art Café this week! It’s been sitting on my desk for at least a couple of months just waiting for me to decide what to do with it. Then I saw what my Facebook-friend Cat Kerr made with a couple of Relics & Artifacts figures, and I finally knew what to do…
Today I’ve got a new art journal spread to share!
The title means hands that create. It’s an exhibition by the Swedish Handicraft organisation where I live. It’s an organisation with ties to the Swedish arts & crafts movement, and with traditional crafting. They’re celebrating 100 years this year, and to celebrate this they’ve invited around 300 artists and crafters to showcase their work. I contributed with this shadow box.
The exhibition is at the Smålands Museum in Växjö, and if you want to check it out it’s there until the end of August.
Wow! What a spring and summer it’s been! I find out that I wont have a regular job after summer, I participate in an exhibition, I start up my Etsy-shop, we travel to England, we visit my mother in Gothenburg and I decide to participate in a market. The much needed vacation turned out more hectic than I thought at first. Let’s show some photos. 🙂
There are truly big changes in the works for me that involves creativity and business plans. And you say: Wait, wait, what! Didn’t you have a steady job with a good income, and you moved to this new place just for that job?
Well, yes… But apparently this year has a few surprises for me. So far the outcome has been good, even if it didn’t look like that in the first place.
So, right now I’m preparing, planning and creating to get this new change to work. I’m taking the big step to become my own, a creative entrepreneur (as Revlie over at REVolution calls it). The first step for me has been to open an Etsy shop. I’ve thought about it for so long, but it never felt right… like now. It’s called Bucket of Badgers, like the blog, and you can find it here.
It’s not much up at the moment, but I’ll add items hopefully every week. I still work full time, and you all know how much time there’s for other, the real fun, things.
My plan is to have worked out the worst kinks and newbie mistakes until the end of August when my employment contract expires. Then it all gets serious… lol
My creative life…
